Lake Real estate Colorado

Lake Dillon Area

The town of Dillon is one of the most picturesque places to live in Summit County, because it’s not only surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, but it also overlooks Lake Dillon, which spans 3,233 surface acres and 26.8 miles of shoreline.

A variety of Lake Dillon Co real estate condominiums line Lake Dillon, both above it and at its shore. Many are about 30-40 years old, but strong homeowner associations have kept them well maintained and up to date, and many owners have remodeled them. Other condos were built more recently.

Several single-family Dillon Luxury homes also dot the shores of Lake Dillon, or sit above it. Across the highway, Corinthian Hill provides a spectacular view of the lake, Buffalo Mountain, and other mountain peaks.

The town of Dillon bustles in the summer, with free concerts at the amphitheater, located right next to the lake; farmers’ markets that sell baked goods, flowers and fresh produce; nature nights that educate people about the local wildlife and surroundings; and festivals, such as the barbecue challenge. Dillon homeowners can walk down to the marina and grab a snack at the tropical Tiki Bar, walk along the path that borders Lake Dillon, or bring a packed lunch to one of the many picnic tables that overlook the lake.

In the winter, the town quiets down, providing a much-needed respite from the tourist activity throughout Summit County. But the beauty of living in Dillon is that the town is located a short drive over the dam to Frisco, a hop, skip and a jump from the on-ramp to Interstate 70, and a short distance to Keystone Resort and Arapahoe Basin. Plus, it’s very close to great shopping at the outlet stores at Silverthorne.

Other areas of Lake Dillon Colorado are Summit Cove, which is only a couple of miles from Keystone Resort and is filled with single-family Dillon homes and Dillon condominiums that mostly house locals; Dillon Valley, which is the most affordable part of Dillon because it is in a residential area close to Interstate 70; and Summerwood, which features luxury multi-million dollar homes that lie secluded, high above the lake on dramatic cliffs.

Dillon is also home to an award-winning live theater company, a bowling alley, tennis courts, a movie theater and great restaurants and shops.
